Speaker Guidelines & Application
KENTUCKY REALTOR® INSTITUTE (KRI) (formerly the Kentucky Real Estate Education Foundation) is a 501c3 organization that serves as the educational arm for Kentucky REALTORS®. KRI was created in 1990 to fulfill the educational responsibilities to members and the general public through the creation, presentation and operation of education programs.

Kentucky REALTOR® Institute offers many kinds of educational services, including  offering education at major events throughout the year, which include Broker Summit and the Kentucky REALTORS® Annual Convention. Broker Summit is held during the spring and the Annual Convention is held in the Fall. If there are other programs (such as our Leadership program) you are interested in speaking at, please specify on the application.

The Education
The annual convention sessions are 3 hours in length, while Broker Summit is a 1 day event that has mini sessions ranging from 20 minutes to 2 hours long. Each class size will vary from 20 - 150 attendees. The longer sessions are typically done by spotlight speakers. We try our best to offer a wide variety of topics that are tailored to current interests or concerns in the real estate industry.

Speaker Considerations
We encourage speakers to submit multiple course topics within their area of expertise. Selected speakers must agree to provide educational content only, abide by these guidelines and the contract agreement. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. Speakers will be chosen based on the following criteria:
○ Relevance to today's real estate professional ○ Well-defined topic focus ○ Practical application of materials ○ Timeliness of topic ○ Overall program quality ○ Speaker credentials

Budget & Speaker Fee
Speaker compensation will be negotiated with the speaker or their designee at the time of being contacted about availability. The association will place the speaker’s reservation at the conference hotel for one night's lodging and the room charge will be placed on the association’s mater bill. Additional nights may be covered due to the session time and travel availability. The association will not pay for any incidental expenses or internet/phone fees.

Event Promotion
It is encouraged that the speakers chosen will promote the event on their website(s), and/or speaker’s bureau sites, social media, or in press releases. The association grants permission for the speaker to be photographed while at the event, as well as attendees, and any staff members that are present.

All speaker materials are copyrighted, with an exception of the attendee handouts. Kentucky REALTOR® Institute with Kentucky REALTORS® agrees to not reproduce any materials without permission from the speaker or their designee. Once permission is obtained, we ask for any of the above promotional material sent to us within a week, giving enough time to effectively promote the speaker. All attendee handouts must be provided at a minimum, 1 month in advance of the session.
